The AAUW International Fellowship is open to women pursuing full-time graduate or postgraduate studies in any field of study at accredited institutions in the United States. Specifically, the fellowship supports:
- Master’s/First Professional Degrees: For women pursuing a master’s degree or equivalent professional degree (e.g., law, medicine).
- Doctoral Degrees: For women working towards a doctoral grade, such as a Ph.D., E.D., or other terminal degrees in their chosen field.

Eligibility
· Applicants must be citizens of a country other than the United States; U.S. citizens or permanent residents are not eligible.
· Applicants must have obtained the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in the United States before the application deadline and have applied to or are currently enrolled in a full-time graduate or postgraduate program at an accredited U.S. school.
· Master’s/First Professional Degree and Doctoral applicants must be pursuing a degree or certificate in a U.S. university, and their program must be full-time.
· Postdoctoral candidates are required to hold a doctoral degree confidential as an investigation grade (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., D.B.A., D.M.) and must intend to conduct full-time research.
· Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English, which may be shown through one of several consistent English ability tests (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS).
· Applicants must demonstrate the need for financial assistance to support their studies or study in the United States.
· Applicants must aim to return to their home country to pursue a professional career and help women and girls advance in their community.
· Former beneficiaries of any AAUW national fellowship or grant are ineligible for new funding, although past recipients of AAUW branch or local awards may apply.
· The fellowship is not open to applicants who are seeking funding for an online or distance learning program or for those planning to complete their academic work outside the United States.
